Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 1, 2025  ·  Last updated: April 1, 2025
Short version: We process your API request data transiently to deliver the service. We do not sell your data. We do not store request payloads beyond the request lifecycle. Subscription billing is handled by Stripe.

This Privacy Policy describes how 402Found ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit 402found.dev or use our API services. We are committed to handling your information with care and transparency.

1. Information We Collect

API Request Data: When you call a 402Found agent endpoint, the request payload (e.g., text submitted to the PII Scrubber) is processed in memory to generate a response. We do not persist this payload to disk or database storage beyond the duration of the request unless a specific service feature requires it (which will be clearly documented in that service's API spec).

Technical Logs: Our infrastructure automatically logs standard server data including: IP addresses, request timestamps, HTTP methods, endpoint paths, response codes, and response times. These logs are used for uptime monitoring, rate limiting, abuse prevention, and debugging. Log retention is limited to 30 days.

Billing Information: Consumer subscription and one-time payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full credit card number. We receive a Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your access.

On-Chain Transactions: x402 micropayments are processed on the Base blockchain. Transaction hashes and wallet addresses associated with payments are publicly visible on-chain. We record transaction hashes to validate payment and fulfill service requests.

Website Analytics: We may collect anonymized, aggregated website usage data (page views, referrer information) to understand how people use the site. No personally identifiable information is used for analytics purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

4. Data Retention

Request payload data is not retained beyond the request lifecycle. Server access logs are retained for up to 30 days. Billing records (subscription status, payment history) are retained as required by financial regulations and Stripe's data policies. You may request deletion of any personal information we hold about you by contacting us at [email protected].

5. Cookies and Tracking

402found.dev does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies. We may use minimal session-related cookies required for functionality (e.g., maintaining login state for dashboard access). We do not use cookies for behavioral advertising or cross-site tracking.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security practices including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, access controls on infrastructure, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data transmitted over the internet.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
